THE COMMISSIONING: TO BE A WHISTLEBLOWER: TO BE A SON OF THUNDER

Part 3

Rosh Hashanah began on the eve of September 8, 2010. That Wednesday evening marked the beginning of the 10 Days of Awe. Those days of repentance and reflection would culminate on Saturday, September 18th; Yom Kippur-the Day of Atonement. I had been away from home since February traveling between Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina. Due to an allergic reaction to something in my house I had been forced to seek shelter with my children. I felt swept away; displaced-desolate.

During the Days of Awe, I had been invited to attend a conference in Durham, North Carolina at the Worship Center. Danny Steyne was to be the keynote speaker,  The meeting date had been set for Yom Kippur.

I had been sitting in a middle row watching people file into the vast room when a woman appeared asking me to come and sit with her at the front  The last worship song having ended, I looked up  to find that a young woman with tawny golden hair was sitting on the floor beside me where I had been kneeling in prayer. Her face was radiant as was her smile. She had picked up a single sequin from the floor- when I spoke to her she pressed it into the palm of my left hand.

Looking at the tiny shiny in my hand and back into her eyes I said, “Thank you. What is your name?”

“Carolyn,” she smiled widely. There was a golden light all around her.

The preaching having started she rose quickly to her feet disappearing somewhere into the back of the room.

After preaching, the LORD led Danny to give several words of personal prophecy. When he got to me he said,

“You will be a carrier of God’s glory in the end days.”

Danny stopped and leaned his head to one side as if he were trying to hear something clearly.

“This is what the LORD says, You will be carrying His Glory into both legal and illegal places!” He looked at me again and repeated it with intensity, “Lady, did you understand what I just said to you? The LORD will be sending you into legal AND illegal places with His glory!”

I nodded and stepped back to my seat pondering.

The meeting closed I gathered my things in my arms to leave. As I was midway down the long aisle that led to the Exit I heard  a voice calling out to me:

“That was an awesome prophetic word that he gave you!”

When I turned to see where the voice was coming from I saw Carolyn waving to me motioning for me to stop. I stepped past the seats and met her midway in the row.

” Could I ask you something? If you don’t mind, would you pray for me?”

“Certainly,” I replied. ” I would be glad to pray for you.”

I sat the bag and notebook down in a seat. When I looked into her face the LORD said, “You need to lay your hand on her shoulder”.  When the LORD said this I asked Carolyn if it would be okay. She nodded yes. As I began to pray I began to see the missionary Amy Carmichael and all these little children.

“The LORD says that He is calling you to a ministry like Amy Carmichael. He is calling you to help the little children.”

As soon as these words left my mouth Carolyn bent over weeping. The LORD  instructed me to wait. When she was able to compose herself she said,

“I have the autobiography of Amy Carmichael in the back seat of my car! I have prayed and prayed that I would be used by the LORD like Amy Carmichael!’

A burst of fresh tears streaming down her face, she bowed her head again lifting the palms of her hands towards the LORD.

As I began to pray again I had a vision:

In the vision, I saw a great Asian seaport. There were many large cargo ships and many crates and containers. To the right, the face of a man appeared. His eyes were angry fierce; murderous. He was looking towards the West.  Suddenly I saw Carolyn appear. I could both see and understand that she had come to rescue children from sex slave trafficking. The man was about to lift his hand against her when the heavens opened. I heard a ROAR come out of the heavens. When I looked up I saw the  LORD HIMSELF as the LION of the TRIBE OF JUDAH rising up, ROARING over Carolyn; when the LORD ROARED confusion took hold of the evil man; he fled in terror.”

As soon as I began to share the vision with Carolyn there was a loud shout from the far end of the other side of the room; a woman had begun waving, jumping, moving – running towards us.

“I am her mother! I am her mother! I heard what you said! I am the one that needed to hear that! You see she is scheduled to leave tomorrow to train to rescue children out of sex slave trafficking. I have had so much fear. I didn’t want to let her go. But she says the LORD has called her.”

The woman paused and bowed her head weeping.

“What you said is the same prophecy that our pastor gave to her. It is the same word. It is the same word. Now I know she will be okay.”

The ACME Thunderer was housed within the zipper pocket of my purse. The LORD said,

“I want you to give it to Carolyn. I want you to give it to her-NOW.”

I retrieved the Thunderer and pressed it into Carolyn’s open hands.

“What is this?” she inquired. I recounted to her the testimony of the call to be a Whistleblower-the call to be a Son of Thunder.

“I can’t take this from you,” her eyes moved from the whistle back to my face.

“Yes you can, ” I said. “JESUS says it’s your turn now. He will go before you. He will always be with you. Yes, you can.”

THE CALL: TO BE A WHISTLEBLOWER: TO BE A SON OF THUNDER:

WILL YOU TAKE YOUR SEAT AT THE GATE?

PART TWO

It was 2005; the LORD sent me to Charleston, South Carolina. A local assembly was hosting a conference.  I packed my bags and began the journey south. The ACME Thunderer whistle housed within a zipper pocket deep inside my purse.

On the last day of the three-day conference, I was invited to join the intercessors who prayed each day before the services began.

A  hazy yellow light enveloped a circle of empty chairs which had been placed in the middle of a small square room. One by one the empty seats were finally filled with- a company of women. Two women came in just as the door was being closed for prayer; they sat down facing me in the circle.  One of the women was slight of build with bright eyes that brimmed with fire -combustible.

Towards the end of the prayer time, this same woman was asked to share about her recent trip. She told us that she had just returned from Ireland. She began to share a scripture from the book of Job about clapping and whistling the wicked out of their places.

Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss (whistle) him out of his place.” Job 27:23

“I think we ought to just do it!” someone shouted.

The scripture was read- then prayed. Suddenly all of the intercessors began to clap their hands and whistle. The clapping was loud and strong, but the whistling was not. As I was taking it all in the LORD reminded me of the ACME Thunderer hidden deep within my purse.

“Take it out now!” the LORD said. “Take it out NOW!”

I reached down for my purse, unzipped the pocket and took the whistle out. The silver glistened in the hazy light. It was swinging on the end of a long black lanyard.

“I have a whistle; I have a whistle?” I lifted the whistle up above my head.

The lady from Ireland put both hands on her knees leaned forward with a huge grin and proclaimed,

“Well get up, girl! Get up! Blow it, girl! Blow it, girl! Blow it!”

With that exclamation, she jumped up out of her chair; she began to clap her hands violently with joy.

At the sound of the whistle, the entire room exploded in prayer and praise.

The tears streamed down my face once again as I blew the Thunderer as a prayer for all who needed deliverance out of the hands of the wicked. I remembered the crossroads; the hard red bricks; the woman’s eyes of desolation.

I also remembered the unexpected call about the wicked being exposed and apprehended.

The Bible tells us that there is a  SOUND OF DELIVERANCE. In Psalm 89:15 it is written: “Blessed is the people that know the JOYFUL SOUND: they shall walk, O LORD, in the LIGHT of THY COUNTENANCE.”

The word “joyful” means literally “blowing, loud noise, a blast, a war cry, a cry with applause- a signal for war“. The “joyful sound” is the SOUND of the LORD’s DELIVERANCE.

The word “hiss” in Job 29:23  means literally, “to hiss, whistle, pipe- as a signal”.

In Job 29, Job recounts the days when he “took his seat in the Gate”.

“The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me:

Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.

I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.”

If silence is complicity, can we be silent anymore?

In Tuam, Ireland 800 mass graves of babies and young children were uncovered. These children died at the hands of those who said they were of GOD.

“More than five decades after the Home was closed and destroyed — where a housing development and children’s playground now stands — what happened to nearly 800 of those abandoned children has perhaps now emerged: …forgotten, with neither gravestones nor coffins. ” (June 3, 2014: Terrance McCoy)

The abuse and trafficking of children is a devastating reality in our times. It is not just the outlying unbelievers and pagans, but just as in Josiah’s time this sin is rampant in God’s House among many who call themselves His ordained leadership.

If silence is complicity, how can we continue to name the Name of JESUS and keep silent anymore?

Will you take your seat at the Gate? Will you be a Whistleblower? Will you be a Son of Thunder?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones

WILL YOU BE A WHISTLEBLOWER?  WILL YOU BE A SON OF THUNDER?

Part One

The morning of Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2004, I sat on the side of my bed. The entire night had been fitful.  I was exhausted.  A magazine cover caught my eye.  I picked it up. It opened to a page with a photo of a young woman standing in front of an institutional type red brick building; her profile was stark, disturbed and forlorn. To my horror, the article was about 76 children that had been abused by priests over four decades. I sat in sickened silence. staring at the bleak figure framed by the hard red bricks.

The LORD spoke to me and said, “I need you to get a whistle”.

“But I don’t have a whistle, LORD. Where will I get one?”

“Ask your husband.” the LORD replied.

I heard my husband heading out the door for work and shouted at him, “Hey, I need a whistle! Do you have one? ”

“Yes, I do. I will leave it on the kitchen counter for you,” his voice echoed back down the hall.

The whistle lying on the counter was silver. When I picked it up the florescent kitchen light flashed against the metal. It read: The ACME Thunderer MADE IN ENGLAND. Then the LORD said,

“I want you to blow the whistle on all the child molesters and pedophiles. I want you to do it today.” I picked up the whistle and headed out the door.

The LORD directed me to a particular crossroads. I did not know it at that time but later learned that it is the logistic center of the county. A dilapidated cinder block building stood where a once thriving filling station had been.  After parking the car I had to wait for the traffic to clear.  Other than the old station, the crossroads bordered woods and open fields. There was a man across from the old station out in a field feeding his goats.  He looked up once or twice when traffic passed.

The LORD had instructed me to stand in the center of the crossroads to blow the whistle.

I prayed,  “LORD, please clear the way for me to do this.”  As soon as the traffic cleared I walked to the center of the crossroads.

For some reason, my gaze was southward and then upward toward the heavens.  I remember looking down at the ground. I remembered the red brick building. I remembered the stark young woman. I gripped the whistle in my right hand.

As I stood there praying a deep unspeakable anguish overtook my heart. I could hear the cries of innocents; the muffled screams of little children.

“Save the children, Father God. Save the children! Save them out of the hands of the wicked wherever they are LORD! Only YOU can do it! Let this whistle be heard in heaven and in the earth in JESUS NAME. Breakthrough for the children, LORD! Breakthrough!” I could not stop blowing the whistle. I could not stop the river of tears streaming down my face.

Miraculously no traffic interrupted that time of prayer.

About thirty days later I received an unexpected call from a close friend.

“You won’t believe what happened!” she said.  “You know that crossroads where the LORD told you to blow that whistle? Well! What you don’t know is this!  Listen, within walking distance of that crossroads where you were the SBI and the local authorities busted a child pornography ring. The man was sentenced to prison!”

His last name was the name of the crossroads and the old store where I had parked.

October 5, 2016; I was walking one morning when the LORD spoke to me suddenly again.

“I hate Chemosh! I hate Chemosh!” At the moment that the LORD spoke this to me I saw a chariot of fire in the heavens and I felt the fury of the LORD. I hurried home to search out who this was.

Chemosh was the pagan god of child molesting worshiped alongside Molech the god of child sacrifice. When Solomon was King because his heart was turned away from the LORD by pagan wives (unholy alliances), he began to build pagan temples. He built temples to both Chemosh and to Molech. The mountain where the Israelites sacrificed their children was named The Mount of Corruption or literally, The Mount of Offense or Desecration. These sins were not just being committed by the outlying pagans. These sins against children were being committed by God’s own people.

The scripture says that when King Josiah cleansed the Temple he also destroyed these pagan idolatrous sites. Josiah had to start in GOD’s House FIRST.

And he brought out the grove from the house of the LORD, without Jerusalem, unto the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and stamped it small to powder, and cast the powder thereof upon the graves of the children of the people.  2 Kings 23:6

Please note: Josiah cast the powder upon the graves of the “children” of the people.

And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile2 Kings 23:13

JESUS said:

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:10

Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it: Numbers 21:17

THE WOMAN AT THE WELL “SINGING”

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; , , and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; I Corinthians 1:27

My husband and I own a water well drilling business. Several years ago a local contractor hired our company to drill a well for a large tract of land he was developing. The large tracts of land were specifically to accommodate horse farms; in order to satisfy the county water requirements, he had to be able to provide an abundant amount of water to continue development.

Our driller had set up the machine and had been drilling for several days to no avail. No matter where we drilled we could not get more than 1 gallon per minute. The county required a minimum of 20 gallons per minute.  The developer was beginning to panic. In desperation, the developer even hired professional “water witchers” to try to find a goodly water supply. These men came out with their divining rods, marking sites; however, these sites ended up being dry.

Each day the reports came in; “no water”. Each day became more and more critical and intense. I started praying. I knew that there was nothing too hard for GOD. The earth is the LORD’s. He created everything. He created water.  I set my heart to inquire of the LORD what to do. I fell asleep that night praying. The next morning when I woke up the scripture from Numbers 21:17 kept coming to my mind. I kept hearing “Spring up O well; sing ye to it!” over and over. I jumped out of bed running down the hall to the kitchen. “I know what we need to do about the well!” I exclaimed as I entered the kitchen. My husband was standing beside the coffee pot looking grim. “What are you talking about?” he asked.

“I am talking about that well out there on the horse farm property. I know what we need to do. I need to go out there and sing to it!” My husband shook his head and stared at me blankly like I was “nuts”. My son had heard me running down the hall. He shouted out, “Ma! I don’t think I can take this kind of thing early in the day!”  “Nothing is too hard for GOD!” I replied. “Nothing!”

That morning when our driller came into our office I called out to him. “Could you do me a favor and draw me a map out to the drill site?” He took a piece of computer paper and drew out the directions for me. As soon as all the crews were gone I picked up my Bible, my shofar, my anointing oil and headed to my car.

When I got to the site I saw the drilling rig set up in the middle of a huge excavated field.  I got out of my car and headed toward the rig. When I got to the rig I asked the driller had he hit any water yet. “No.” he replied. He was staring at my Bible and Shofar, “What are you doing out here?”  “Well, I just came out here to pray. I am going to walk around here a bit Don’t mind me. I just came to pray.”  With that, I headed out across the field.

There was a portion of land that went down into a swag. I felt that I was to go to that place. When I got there I poured oil on the ground. I opened my Bible and read the scripture. Then I SANG the scripture. I blew my shofar and prayed. “LORD, this is the Word that YOU gave me. I know nothing is too hard for YOU. LORD, please let YOUR WATER SPRING UP. LORD, please let a WELL spring up in JESUS NAME.”I waved to the driller and his helper as I walked back across the field to my car.

The next day was Saturday. It was late afternoon. My husband came by the house. His phone rang just as he walked in the door. It was the driller. “What did you say happened?” my husband’s face looked concerned. “What? What?” You’re kidding!”

“What’s going on?” I asked. My husband kept waving me away with his hand. Finally, he stopped; his hand over the receiver he said, “The driller wanted to know if you would come out there and pray for him and his helper.” I didn’t know what to say. ” Why? What’s going on?” I asked.

“He said that yesterday when you went out there to pray right after you left the drill rig broke down. They couldn’t drill anymore. They ended up shutting everything down. They decided to move the rig over to where you were praying. Today, as they were drilling, the machine started making a strange noise. The drill stem seemed to lock up. They didn’t know if it were going to break down or blow up. All of a sudden water started spewing out everywhere. They have got well over 20 gallons per minute!! The entire job is saved!”

“It is the LORD!” I smiled. “The LORD knew exactly what needed to be done. He has answered our prayers. He has saved the day. Glory to HIS NAME.”

There is nothing too hard for GOD. Nothing.

In all things HE is FAITHFUL.

Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you. Isaiah 43:4

THE DELiVERANCE OF THE LORD

It was the mid-1980s. I was a young mother of three all under the age of five years old. There was a local grocery where I did most of my shopping. It was a Friday evening; I had run inside to buy ice cream cones for our church social. I was searching the shelves when suddenly a huge man appeared at the end of the aisle. A strange ominous feeling swept over me, but I was in a hurry to get to church on time so I continued to search. Finally locating the cones, I began to head towards the front of the store so I could check out.

The towering massive man stretched out both of his arms and both of his legs blocking the end of the aisle leering at me menacingly.  Clutching the box of cones I turned the opposite way walking as fast as I could to get away from him. I had never seen this man before. I had no idea who he was or why he had decided to come after me. Weaving in and out of the crowded aisles I finally reached the checkout.  I felt someone behind me pushing up against my back.  I turned to see that it was this same mammoth man grinning down at me.

In the area where we lived there had been a brutal murder and a rape incident of two women. The whole town was in a panic. One woman and her child had been murdered; the other woman raped and left for dead. A man who was checking out in front of me realized what was going on; he turned and spoke to the man telling him to leave me alone. The man behind me was relentless; even in that public place, he would not back down. I finished checking out and literally ran to my car.

In the days that followed this same man found out where I lived and began to stalk me day and night. The situation became so dire that the police became involved. The police chief told my Dad that the man had a ten-page rap sheet and that the only way he could be stopped was with a bullet. Every morning I had to have the police escort me as I drove my little boy to the bus stop. Every day the police would monitor my house.  Even with the strong police presence, the man would not stop. In fact, his aggression intensified. One day at noon in broad daylight he came to my house and tried to tear my back door down. Once again I had to call the police. Only when he heard the sirens did he leave.

The situation escalated to the point I had to take the children and move in with my parents for over three months.  Finally, I needed to go home. I remember praying, “LORD, please save us. LORD, please protect my children.”

During this time I had a dream. In the dream this same man broke into my house through an upstairs window; when he came in he grabbed me, raped me and then tried to kill me. I awoke from the dream shaken. I cried out to the LORD more fervently. My greatest concern was how to protect my children. I kept trying to figure out how I could carry two and pull one if I had to run to get away from this man. My husband worked long hours and was always gone. I didn’t know what I was going to do. This situation continued for over ten months.

Spring came. There was an apple tree that grew right outside the living room window. Each year tiny apples would appear. The police had instructed me to keep the children inside the house; being outside would put them in a dangerously vulnerable position. It came to me one day to see if the apple tree had little apples; I thought the children would enjoy seeing them. When I looked for the tree it was gone. Perplexed, I began to go from window to window, searching for the little tree. It was not there.  “Children, I am going outside to check on something. Do not come outside. Stay inside while Mommy looks for the little tree. I will be right back.”

The children huddled together in front of the window as I made my way out the back door. As I walked around the side of the house I saw the tree. It was uprooted lying on its side on the ground. I looked up to discover that the upstairs window was pulled down about ten inches at the top. Immediately I remembered the dream; I ran inside and locked the door.

I found out later that this giant man had tried to climb up the tree to break into my house. Because of his immense size and weight, the tree had given way and had become uprooted, falling flat to the ground; it was left sprawling across the entire length of the side yard. In the fall the man had been injured; he did not go to a doctor to avoid police detection. Because he was diabetic gangrene set in. He ended up losing his left foot and leg below his knee. Within three months the man was dead.

The day I learned of his death I fell down to my knees and wept. The nightmare was over.  I knew that the LORD had saved my life and the lives of my children. The police had said it would take a miracle to stop him and it did. There is no doubt in my mind that the LORD intervened to save me. The giant was dead.

The Bible tells us that we are precious in God’s eyes. The scripture tells us that God will give men for our lives. Our God is a covenant-keeping God. He is mighty to save; not just in the Bible times; but in our times as well. We are the apple of His eye. Our enemies become His enemies. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. His love never fails.
